Betrayal on a Politically Correct Scale
The motto of "Support Our Troops" is becoming a travesty of deceit.
With political correctness overwhelming common sense and our society.
When is enough, enough?
Let the below pictures sink in.
These are the photos of American bodies hung from a bridge by our enemies in Fallujah, March 31, 2004. These murdered and mutilated Americans were employees of Blackwater USA Security, attacked while escorting supplies to a caterer. The animal responsible for this is named Ahmed Hashim Abed, and he was one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq.
I use the term “he was,” because he was captured, alive I might add, by US Navy Seals.
This elite unit is now facing charges for their actions in taking this animal into custody. You see it appears the “poor fellow” is complaining he obtained a bloody lip during his capture.
The Seals, Special Operations Petty Officer Second Class Matthew McCabe, Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe and Petty Officer Julio Huertas that undertook the mission to take this animal now are facing betrayal on an outlandish scale.
McCabe, is facing three charges: dereliction of performance of duty for willfully failing to safeguard a detainee, making a false official statement, and assault.
Keefe, is facing charges of dereliction of performance of duty and making a false official statement.
Julio Huertas, faces those same charges and an additional charge of impediment of an investigation.
This is an outrage!
These honorable men, sworn to duty, trained through pain and sacrifice, are now impugned by their own government. Their careers and service now forever tainted by the betrayal of the false perceptions of political correctness. Over a bloody lip, these brave men could have more easily just killed this bastard. This is political correct insanity on a grand scale.
The same political correctness that allowed a terrorist to attack and murder US citizens and soldiers at Fort Hood.
The same attitude of political correctness that steals the fortitude of our President from acting in Afghanistan or even acknowledging the war on terror. The atrocities perpetrated by enemies sworn to destroy us, now politically correctly termed “man caused disasters.”
Look at those pictures again.
Do you remember the naked bodies of the two slain soldiers being dragged through the streets of Mogadishu? (those I will not post the above are disgusting enough).
Do you remember the news footage of all the chanting and cheering thousands in the streets after the attacks of 9/11?
How many more words must be written? How many more attacks and atrocities must we be subjected too before we realize the War is real? The threat is real? The deaths will be real.
We are fortunate enough to have a mere fragment of society that has the resolve and courage to stand and fight for our right to exist, for our way of life and we don’t have the courage to support them.
This is a travesty on a scale beyond betrayal.
UPDATE: ACQUITTED
All three of the SEALS above have been cleared of all charges and been found not guilty.
These trials were absolutely shameful and a smear of our men and women in the Armed Forces. The cowardice of the Liberal Politically Correct is unconscionable; all they have accomplished by pressuring the Military Command structure to pursue these charges was to besmirch and betrayed our protectors and emboldened our enemies.

I first heard about this travesty last night. I don't know why anybody even joins the military anymore. There is no TRUTH!!!!!!!

I just heard about this travesty this morning. Those responsible for going after these brave men deserve to be prosecuted. Who do they represent? Surely, not the American people and the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country. Please send this excellent piece, complete with photos to Obama and Congress.

Thank you all for taking the time to read, and you are all so right with your comments. As you know I have two sons serving, I was so outraged when I saw this I could barely contain my anger and the shame that has been thrust upon us. Even in writing this piece, (which I will go back and edit and probably expand, once I calm down) I could not contain my ire or even get across the majority of the points I want to convey.
One point which irked me beyond reason, is the first hearing of these fine men is scheduled to be held on December 7th That’s right Pearl Harbor day, one betrayal heaped upon the anniversary of another.
Again thank you all for responding and caring about my sons and the special men and women in our Armed Forces.
Wow I am disgusted that our men who are doing their jobs are being treated like sh!t. I am appaled that our government is being so pathetic about something like this. so what if the guy got a bloody lip? He is a terrorist and deserves a lot more! So much for supporting our troops who are sticking their own necks out for US. Makes me want to go b!tch slap someone!
What do you expect when we are not wanted in the areas that we are in. We were supposed to be out when I raq got their congress together and yet that was some 2 years ago. How can we be taken seriously when we are still there! That is what is outrageous. There are those who are in the higher ranks of the mitiary that want more troops there ---to fight for something we have no need to be involved in. They will continue to kill no matter if we are there or not. Let them learn how to take care of themselves. We don't need to be nanny when our own country has people like the guy (can't find the right word but it is not a nice one for him) that killed on our own soil. We should be taking care of our own and get out of other people's, Nation's business.

My son served in Iraq too, airborne infantry, sniper & scout. He was over there just 2 weeks when he got caught in the battle of Fallujah. He served during the elections and it was 18 months of hell.
Our military is not allowed to do the job they were trained to do. No civilian can fathom what they encounter every flippin day. How can anyone justify judging a combat soldier because a terrorist gets a bloody lip?
All these wars would have turned out differently if our country just let our troops do what needed to be done and get home.I have yet to meet a soldier who thinks the war would be better fought on US soil.
Our soldiers did not decide to wage war, our leaders did. It is important and about time that we support the troops.

I partially understand your comment but what I expect is the government and the people they represent to stand shoulder to shoulder and unequivocally support those that fight in our stead without resentment, and solid unwavering resolve.
The men and women of our armed forces did not choose these wars, but they have the courage and strength to follow the orders given them by a civilian authority representing the people of this Republic.

The arguments and complaints should be directed at those in government that interfere with the prosecution of those orders. This war would indeed be over had we not handcuffed our military during the fight, allowed political correctness to waylay the art of warfare with rules of engagement, and then insult those that are fighting with honor and fortitude against an enemy that has no code, no honor and no respect for life.

These honorable men are not being impugned by their own government; it is no longer their Government just as it is no longer my Government nor any other Patriotic American’s Government. This Travesty that sits in Washington D.C. is the product of Saul Alinsky and Karl Marx and any other Anti-American forces that have disgraced this planet over the last 100 years.

You have just said it all. When the President of the United States bows to the king of Saudi Arabia, you gotta wonder what is really going on here. What country does he represent? That incident caused me to look up the word treason for the official definition-this is what I found: "TREASON - This word imports a betraying, treachery, or breach of allegiance. The Constitution of the United States, Art. III, defines treason against the United States to consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid or comfort. The offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government of the states to which the offender owes allegiance. By the same article of the Constitution, no person shall be convicted of treason, unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court."
And now this treatment of our brave troops, what's next???
That's our fine government at work! Pick on our Heroes and protect the zeroes! Sucks!

That is why I think that those who have the problems deal with it themselves and not pull others into the mix--like our military. Do we really know who we are killing? If you look into the faces of those "pulled into the mix" most will tell you that they are humans just as themselves. Anything that tells you different well that is up for debate too, but it should be president against president or leader, not our families. There are some terrorists bent against the very fundamentals of life, but then you have the many others who just get pulled into the mix. There is a thing called MOB-MENTALITY and militia trainers know how to use this to their advantage.

To ignore those that attacked us and brought violence and terror outside of their borders is “head-in-the-sand” mentality. The Jihadist terror philosophy began long before it was acknowledged as warfare.
What leader of the opposition do you propose any leader of ours should “fight?” I would imagine a death cage match between Obama and Osama would be pretty entertaining, and profitable pay-per-view, but would the outcome change the jihadist belief that all “infidels” must die.
Islamic Jihadism is a cancer on the Global Society that must be eradicated. Just as a malignancy attacks the body, the only cure is its cells must be cut out and/or attacked and destroyed before it corrupts and kills.
Mob Mentality only works when there are like-minded mobs that can be manipulated; eliminate the mob and you eliminate the mentality. One American life is of greater worth than thousands of “true believers.”
As harsh as that is, it is how the “enemy” has chosen to engage us. They are willing to die for their cause, which is killing us, the very least we can do is assist them in their travel to their afterlife.
I never said to ignore them. You also forget about the conspiracies that --WE made those towers collapse. Now I am not saying they were true or not because I don't think anyone would know the truth but the ones involved. There have been many, many converups by our own governemnt to take anything seriously. Ecomonic Crisis is one thing they perpetrate to make wars happen. Don't get me wrong here. Governments have used War as a profit machine. That being said, watch those in charge of the Military and how much they want to keep us in the fights that we don't belong in. Human casualty is not high on their priorities list. Oh yeah they will say a prayer and acknolwedge the ones who have lost their lives, but it looks very lad de dah when the first thing they want it to go right back and send more troops in. Try to sit back and not let emotions play into it and watch the bigger picture of what is going on.
When we said that we didn't want anything to happen on our soil--did that happen--not a chance. It happens all the time yet we will go to other nations and help them first. Case in point--all the gang wars and the natural disatoers right here on our land and the dwindling police forces to take care of these things. Let's take care of ourselves first and then we can take care of others.
I think that you are getting the wrong impression with me. I am feeling that you don't think that I am appreciative for the soldiers that are fighting in the wars of others, On the contrary. They are doing what they feel is a good thing, =most of them. Those that choose not to go to war are also admirable because they will be the ones who will be here to hold up the nation while the others are away. Someone has to keep the populous up in our nation.
I find that Im beyond words on this topic. All I can do is Give my support to the men on the Teams. As little as it may mean to them when facing betrayal beyond reason.

I agree with you we have many problems right here at home for which we need to address and social re-engineering is not one of them. I do not believe I have the wrong impression of you. You appear to really care about what is happening. My point is that the battle we are fighting against Islamic Fundamentalist radicals has been forced upon us, to shrink away and admit defeat only emboldens them to further attacks and continue to expand their radical and dangerous philosophy.
The point of this hub is to point out the travesty being perpetrated by our government, on our soldiers and the deceit of those that malign and attack the very soldiers that protect them.
The idiocy and hypocrisy of giving these men a mission, which they accomplished, and then questioning and persecuting them for doing the job they were assigned is beyond ungrateful, its an insult.
We all, starting with the President of the United States should be totally supportive of the mission our Military has been tasked. No request for more troops, equipment or supplies should go wanting. The President has had such a request on his desk since September and the President has not responded. That is not what I would call a commitment to our Military.
Then to have charges filed against them, because these SEALS did what was asked of them, based on the word of a terrorist is beyond the pale. It’s a slap in the face.
This is a result of politicians and the invasiveness of political correctness infecting and getting involved were they do not belong. War is for Warriors; allow them to fight it unobstructed.

The more of us that support them and are vocal about our support for their efforts the better off we all are. The sound should be deafening and be sustained until we force the government that is in place to serve our wishes.
Our problem today is the people elected to represent us believe Government is to control us. They need to be taught, harshly if necessary, government is there to obey us.

I am not from America so i was not fully aware of this situation. My goodness this is shocking, those brave men who fight to protect their country must feel so disheartened. Those pictures bring to light what is happening. Thank you for educating me on this.

So what if Ahmed Hashim Abed has a bloody lip...geez it's war people die, Ahmed should be happy that's all he received from US Navy SEALS. I'd piss in my pants if I was a terrorist and I was captured by elite soldiers such as the US Navy Seals.

I am so glad you wrote about this. I am beyond furious. My husband who is a Vietnam Vet talked to me about what these soldiers had to do and the difficulty of capturing him in enemy territory without getting themselves killed. Ahmed was probably screaming like a little girl so one of the men probably popped him in the mouth to shut him up and save their own lives. They should have cut his throat. That would have shut him up but that wasn't the mission. The mission was to capture him. The people responsible for bringing charges against these brave men are despicable. I will write my Congressmen but so far that hasn't changed a thing. When is this going to end? Or is it?
